Here is a simple Farm house style sign for the thanksgiving holidays and beyond. set on a 3/4" x 24" piece of pine sanded with 120gt then a final sanding using a 360gt for a fine smooth finish. The pine is then stained with a 2 in 1 stain and poly ebony finish wiped on and rubbed off to achieve the darkness desired with a matte finish. A 12" x 24" marker board with a high gloss white finish was used for the lettering, this was achieved by cutting them out with a D1 pro 10w with the extension kit.

Step 2

Air assist is a must to keep any charring or discoloration after the cut. If so desired a baby wipe can be used to wipe the newly cut lettering to remove any residue left behind to keep the bright white high gloss finish. glue of choice is Gorilla wood glue, this is applied with a sponge on the backside and placed on to pine base. You can take steps to center the lettering on the pine but eye balling to close adds to the homey feel.
